The Indian And Australian Cricket Crisis

The recent India and Australian cricket crisis was started over some bad umpiring decisions and a dispute between Symonds and Harbhajan Singh. The Indian team also said that Australia was not playing in the spirit of the game, something I had to agree with.

The test match was a remarkable win for Australia but some of the things that happened were bad for cricket in general. Over appealing when the batsmen clearly had not hit the ball by the Australian team was there for everyone to see. The increased pressure and could be said excessive appealing also put pressure on the umpires which led to some inaccurate decisions. Overall it was bad for the sport and taken to be probably to big with the media, something we need to play down in the future but still deal with the problems.

I think it was evident that the Australian team did not play within the spirit of the game in the second test. But saying that I think they will learn from there mistakes and play in the spirit of the game into the future. To be honest they are a fair team, not in the last test with India, but usually they are very fair in everything they do.

Let's just hope things go well and this crisis stops, because its damaging our already fragile sport. With cricket being played in so few countries compared to other sports, we need to raise its profile and not damage its already small reputation. Both India and Australia are good and fair cricket teams lets hope they play well and have an entertaining and good natured series.
